Los Angeles Lakers head coach Davin Hamm claims that the Lakers finally have the roster depth to win another National Basketball Association (NBA) championship.
Hamm made the claim in an interview with ESPN on Thursday (Jan. 14), acknowledging that the Lakers had shallow depth last season.
The Lakers 온라인카지노 got off to a terrible start last season, going 0-5 and 2-10 in their first 12 games. But Hamm, who replaced Frank Vogel, led the Lakers to the Western Conference finals of the playoffs. They defeated the Memphis Grizzlies and then the Golden State Warriors. In the conference finals, they lost in four games to the eventual champion Denver Nuggets.
The Lakers traded Russell Westbrook midseason and acquired Rui Hachimura and Jared Vanderbilt. They also added D’Angelo Russell to the mix.
After the season, they re-signed shooting guard Austin Reeves. They added Gabe Vincent, Torian Prince, Cam Reddish, and Jackson Hayes.
LeBron James and Anthony Davis lead the team. Hamm believes this roster depth is enough to win a championship.
“I think the sky’s the limit for what we can do,” Hamm said. We’ve added a lot of players with a lot of skill, size, and athleticism. I’m looking forward to all of that coming together.”
Hamm emphasized, however, that having the best players doesn’t necessarily make a championship team. There are key ingredients that make a championship team, he said.
“The coaches I’ve worked for have always said, ‘The most cohesive team wins,'” he said. “Team cohesion is important. You have to have a team full of players who are willing to sacrifice their personal goals.”
