The KT Wiz have snapped a four-game losing streak. Oh Jae-il, who joined KT from Samsung in a one-for-one trade for Park Byung-ho in May, hit the game-winning home run to lead the team to victory.
KT completed a 5-3 come-from-behind victory over the Samsung Lions at Samsung Lions Park in Daegu on Friday. With the score tied 2-2 in the ninth inning, Oh Jae-il hit a two-run arch over the right-field wall off Oh Seung-hwan. Hwang Jae-gyun followed with a two-run homer to left-center field.
Starter Wes Benjamin did his job, allowing two runs on seven hits (two homers) in 5 1/3 innings with one walk and six strikeouts. He was followed by Woo Kyu-min, Kim Min-jin, and Park Young-hyun to preserve the win. On offense, Oh Jae-il had three hits, including the game-winning two-run homer, and Kim Min-hyuk completed a three-hit game.
“Benjamin pitched well with minimal runs, and Woo Gyu-min, Kim Min-soo, and Park Young-hyun pitched well, especially Woo Gyu-min, who pitched well in a tight game,” said Lee.
In the batting lineup,
“Kim Min-hyuk led the offense with three hits. Jae-il Oh’s single in the ninth inning after being called out on technical contact was the game-winner. Rojas Jr. 바카라사이트 also showed his focus by hitting the tying home run with two outs.”
“The whole team worked hard to break the losing streak, and I would like to thank the fans for coming out to support us in the hot weather,” Lee said.
Meanwhile, Kim Min-hyuk, who swung a three-hit bat, said, “I felt like I was playing baseball alone and not helping the team win. I’m glad I was able to contribute to the team’s victory with three hits today. I hope we can continue the good momentum from today’s victory.”
“Recently, I was feeling bad (about not being able to contribute to the team), but the coaches helped me a lot, especially Coach Park Ki-hyuk, the manager, and the seniors, so I was able to calm down. Also, the power analysis part helped me a lot by giving me advice on my hitting in detail,” he said.
Finally, Kim said, “This season, I want to be helpful to the team rather than focusing on my personal goals.”
