Jia-Mega duo leads Jungkwanjang to 3-0 win over Pepper Savings Bank
Led by the duo of Megawatti Puttiwi (real name Mega) and Giovanna Milana (Gia), Jungkwanjang Red Sparks remained unbeaten against Pepper Savings Bank AI Peppers.
The team swept Pepper Savings Bank 3-0 (27:25/25:17/25:16) in the final match of the first round of the Dodram 2023-2024 V League Women’s Division at Pepper Stadium in Gwangju on May 5.
Zia and Mega scored 18 and 25 points, respectively, in the game, accounting for 66% (43 points) of the team’s points (65 points – not including opponent errors).
Mega’s 57.5% offensive success rate was the highest of the two teams.
Trailing 10-14 midway through the first set, Jung Kwan-jang fought back to tie the game at 15-15 on back-to-back kills by Jia, and the score remained tied at one point. 바카라사이트
At 25-25, Kwanjang held on to a tense deuce situation, but an unforced error on her opponent’s serve and an attack point from Jia helped her clinch the set.
The second and third sets were won by comfortable margins.
Jia and Mega took turns shaking the Pepper Savings Bank court until the third set.
Pepper Savings Bank outperformed Jungkwanjang (26%) in receiving efficiency (31.34%), but missed many scoring opportunities due to the lack of offense from their main gun Yasmin Bedard and ace Park Jung-ah.
Yasmin and Park managed only 10 points each.
Yasmin’s serve and reception collapsed after the second set, and her offense was blocked by Jung Ho-young and Lee Sun-woo.
After dropping the first set, Pepper Savings Bank made a psychological move in the second set, shrinking their attacking success rate to 20%.
Although they improved their receiving efficiency, which has been a persistent problem, they were unable to close the six-point gap at 13-19 in the third set and dropped the third set 16-25.
With the loss, Pepper Savings Bank suffered its fourth straight defeat and ended the first round at the bottom of the table with a 1-5 record.
Jung Kwan-jang moved up from fourth to third place with a 4-2 record.
