It has been 21 years since South Korea won a gold medal in women’s table tennis doubles at an Asian Games since Busan 2002.

Shin Yubin and Jeon Jeon-hee won the first North-South matchup in the final at the Games.

Shin had previously won bronze medals in the team event, mixed doubles and singles, but added a gold medal in the final match of the day to cap off a stellar performance.

Some in the table tennis world are hoping for a resurgence in the sport’s popularity.

Shin Yubin and Jeon Jeon-hee faced off against North Korea’s Cha Soo-kyong and Park Soo-kyong and took a commanding 1-2 game lead.

They held their opponents to six points and four points as Jeon Jeon-hee passed with precision and Shin Yoo-bin scored with smashes when she had the opportunity to attack. 먹튀검증

However, in the fourth game, the North Koreans overcame the crisis with skillful play to take full control of the game at 12-10, and then sealed the deal in the fifth game for the long-awaited victory.

In the fifth game, the Korean dominated and took a 6-2 lead, then raced to nine points before Shin Yubin’s backpush.

On the final match point, Jeon calmly served and her opponent’s ball was caught in the net.
