Hana Bank opened Hana Infinity Seoul, an around-the-clock trading room equipped with high-tech infrastructure, the bank said Wednesday.The financial trading space of 2,096 square meters sits on the fourth and fifth floors of Hana Bank’s Euljiro headquarters in downtown Seoul.It is the largest trading room in Korea.“The high-tech trading room will elevate Hana’s standing as the foreign exchange trading leader beyond Korea. We will spare no efforts to foster the country’s capital market and financial industry,” Hana Financial Group Chairman Ham Young-joo said at the opening of the new dealing room.Among the attendees of the opening ceremony were Financial Services Commission Chairman Kim Joo-hyun, Financial Supervisory Service Governor Lee Bok-hyun and CEOs of Hana’s affiliates.Hana aims to lead the foreign exchange market, enabled by a variety of transactions encompassing foreign exchange, derivatives and securities.“We will seek to grow indefinitely above and beyond Korea to become a global leader,” a Hana Bank official said.
Underpinning the around-the-clock system are remote control of desktop computers and servers, installed smart touch keyboards and motion-activated seats.The functions bolster the continued optimum level performance of digital equipment and traders.At the opening ceremony of the new dealing room, Hana declared its new vision, as best encapsulated by New Hana Dealing Room 2.0.The lender under the growth framework will identify investor appetite for Korea’s currency won trading mediated by the high-tech platform.Hana stressed that it has been and will continue to be instrumental in the development of the country’s capital market, as illustrated by decades of trading expertise, extensive employee capabilities and overseas networks.It was the first local lender to initiate an around-the-clock foreign exchange trading service in 2022.Hana’s inking of Korean won-U.S. dollar transaction deals with a Registered Foreign Institution in January was also a first for a Korean lender.Hana plans to establish a financial center in London in the latter half, a move to fortify the lender’s global business expansion encompassing Seoul, Singapore 슬롯놀이터 and New York.
