Rookie boy band Nowadays has made a splash in the K-pop scene with its debut, marking the beginning of an ambitious journey. With its eponymous debut album, Nowadays aims to establish itself as another strong force in the industry.Comprised of members Hyeonbin, Yoon, Yeonwoo, Jinhyuk, and Siyun, Nowadays lies under the Cube Entertainment umbrella, the talent agency known for producing successful K-pop groups such as 4Minute, (G)I-DLE and Lightsum.The group’s debut marks Cube’s first venture into a new boy group in a whopping eight years after PENTAGON.Apparently brimming with anticipation, the quintet took to the stage at the Blue Square Mastercard Hall, Yongsan District, Seoul, Tuesday, for a press event, marking the beginning of its musical career.The group’s leader, Hyeonbin said debuting an idol “feels surreal after dreaming of becoming an idol for so long,” adding, “We’ve poured our hearts into preparing for our debut, so we’re ready to meet the expectations fans have about us.”
Siyun echoed the sentiment, expressing gratitude for the opportunity to debut under his agency.”Being part of a major agency like Cube Entertainment still feels unreal. We’re committed to living up to our company’s expectations and making a global impact,” he said.Nowadays aims to carve out a unique identity in the competitive K-pop landscape with its music, a newly crafted genre the members described as “Days-pop.”The members said the musical style offers “a blend of powerful performances and accessible sounds that seamlessly integrate into everyday life.””Our Days-pop genre is geared toward offering music that resonates with everyone, no matter the time or place. It encapsulates our distinctive style exclusive to our group,” Yoon said.The team’s debut title track, “OoWee,” exemplifies the essence of Days-pop with its soulful 메이저 melodies and hip-hop elements, capturing the magic of falling in love.
