“Ikoba PK, Osmar first to go for ‘lost goal’, then concede”

Seoul Eland head coach Kim Do-gyun talks about Ikova’s penalty kick situation.

Lee Land drew 1-1 at home against Chungbuk Cheongju in the 10th round of the Hana Bank K League 2 2024 at Mokdong Stadium in Seoul on Saturday after conceding an early goal from Bruno Silva.

Lee Land took the lead in the ninth minute of the first half when Bruno Silva converted a penalty kick he earned. They were awarded another penalty just before halftime, 먹튀검증 but Ikova missed the chance to take the lead.

In the 12th minute of the second half, Lee Rand conceded a penalty kick equalizer to Kim Myung-soon, but they were unable to regain the lead and shared the point. With the point, Lee Land moves up to fifth place (3 wins, 3 draws, 3 losses – 16 points – 16 goals). They are level on points with sixth-placed Gyeongnam (13) and seventh-placed Bucheon (8) but have a superior goal difference.

“It’s very disappointing,” Kim said at the post-match press conference. I’m disappointed with the result. The players worked hard and tried their best. In the first half, Ikova’s PK miss gave us a feeling that the game was not going to be easy, and it’s very unfortunate that we couldn’t score more goals. We earned two penalties, but I’m also disappointed with our defense in the situations where we conceded penalties. It’s a disappointing game in many ways. We can’t do anything about it and we will prepare well for the next game.”

On Ikova’s handling of the second penalty, he said: “Actually, Osmar told me to kick it. I pointed to Osmar, but first Ikova said he would take it and Osmar respected that. I think Osmar conceded. I think he conceded.”

Asked if he spoke to Ikoba at halftime about his dismissal, he said, “Not really. I told him to concentrate on the game. I told her to focus on the game, not every player can make a penalty kick, so I told her to forget about it and play.”

As for Chang-Joon’s performance, he said, “I was thinking about when to use him in the first and second halves. We decided to alternate him with the movement rate, and he came on in the second half. I think he played as ordered. He has a lot of speed and strength, so I think he will be a good option if he is utilized well with Lee Dong-ryul.”
