Seoul SK, the professional basketball team that was boosted by Ahn Young-jun’s discharge from the military, showed off its power after winning the championship. The team has won four straight games, including a sweep of leader Wonju DB.
SK won 86-80 at home against DB in the 2023-2024 season at Jamsil Student Gymnasium in Seoul on Thursday, led by Ahn Young-joon (21 points, 5 rebounds, 4 dimes) and leading scorer 온라인카지노 Jamil Warney (32 points, 20 rebounds). Avenging their first meeting of the season, which they lost by 40 points (76-106), SK won their fourth straight game for their eighth win of the season (4-0) and moved up one spot to second in the standings.
DB was led by a triple-double (22 points, 13 rebounds, 11 assists) from leading scorer Dedrick Lawson, but it was overshadowed by the loss. They retained their top spot, but their momentum took a hit with their second loss of the season.
With the addition of Ahn, SK is back to full strength and looking to erase their early season slump. Ahn warmed up the scoring with a 16-point performance in his comeback win over Suwon KT on Nov. 18, and he showed no signs of rust on this day, scoring back-to-back points from the start of the game. SK head coach Jeon Hee-cheol also entrusted Ahn with the defense of shutting down Albano, who leads the league in assists, against DBs who are known for their teamwork. Ahn’s tenacious defense forced Alvano to dip below his average (8.2) with only six assists in the game.
The game was close throughout, with the lead never reaching double digits at any point. SK took advantage of Lawson’s absence early in the second quarter, turning up the offense and ending the half with a four-point lead, 47-43. However, in the middle of the third quarter, the initiative shifted to DB as Lawson took matters into his own hands.
With SK trailing 71-73 with just over four minutes left in the period, Warney’s three-pointer put the game out of reach, and Kim Sun-hyung added two points off a pass from Warney. Again, Warney and Oh Se-geun scored back-to-back baskets to extend the lead to seven points and solidify the victory. DB lost momentum as Lawson’s comeback three-pointer with one minute left in the game missed the rim.
