‘Seager two-run’ Texas beats Arizona to take WS 2-1

Simeon’s game-winning hit replaces injured starter Scherzer

The Texas Rangers won Game 3 of the Major League Baseball (MLB) World Series (WS), best-of-seven, behind a two-run homer by Corey Seager.

Texas won Game 3 of the 2023 MLB World Series 3-1 against the Arizona Diamondbacks at Chase Field in Phoenix, Arizona, U.S., on Monday (June 31).

Texas, which is seeking its first championship, took Games 1 and 3 to take a 2-1 series lead.

Arizona, looking to win its first title in 22 years since 2001, will look to redeem itself in Game 4, which begins next month at home.

Texas’ Seager hit a two-run homer in the third inning to lead off the game, and Marcus Semien drove in the winning run.

Texas starter Max Scherzer took a no-hitter into the third inning before leaving the mound with back tightness.

Arizona got a pair of multi-hit games from Heraldo Perdomo and Tommy Pham, but the rest of the lineup struggled at the plate.

In the game, Texas jumped out to an early lead.

In the top of the third, leadoff hitter Nathaniel Lowe doubled and Simeon followed with a single to left-center. Seeger then pulled an 86.7-mph (139.5-kilometer) changeup from Arizona starter Brandon Phott for a two-run homer over the right-field wall.

The Arizona offense, which had been stymied by the Texas pitching staff, broke its silence in the bottom of the eighth.

With the bases loaded on a double by pinch-hitter Emmanuel Rivera, Perdomo singled up the middle, but Corbin Carroll grounded into a double play and Ketel Marte popped out to end the threat.

Texas brought in closer Jose Leclerc in the bottom of the ninth with a 3-1 lead.

Leclerc got Gabriel Moreno to ground out to third before retiring Christian Walker and Pham on consecutive pitches to end the inning. 카지노사이트존
